Here is photosynthesis.  This is the way the sun powers our planet and all life.  Photosynthesis can be summed up by stating the entire purpose is the plant to create sugars, which then are used to make ATP.  ATP is the energy source for our body.  Humans eat food to get their sugar to make ATP, plants use the sun to provide energy to make sugar to make ATP.
